Saima Systems has been honored with the award for Best Telecommunications Initiative in a Private Company at the Redes&Telecom Awards for its comprehensive digital transformation project at the bonÀrea Group. Redes&Telecom, Spain’s leading IT publication, held the first edition of these awards in Madrid in mid-April, with the aim of recognizing projects that are shaping the future of telecommunications in the country.

Saima Systems is pleased to be part of this inaugural list of winners, which highlights innovation, the evolution of the sector, and supports digital sovereignty.

The award was given in recognition of the development and implementation of bonÀrea’s advanced network and connectivity infrastructure, a project that unifies all operations under a single technological solution based on the SAIWALL Secure SD-WAN platform. Saima Systems also highlights Redes&Telecom’s initiative to promote awards that recognize the efforts of the entire ecosystem: “It is a great success to bring together many of the key players in our country’s digital transformation at a single gala.

According to Ignacio Marco, Commercial Director and Co-Founder of Saima Systems: “Spain has a unique opportunity to lead digital sovereignty in Europe, and this involves building networks that combine innovation, security, and local control. This award is a recognition of that vision and of our collaborative work with our clients. We thank Redes&Telecom for this recognition, and bonÀrea for the trust placed in our team.

A network of more than 600 locations

The project developed for the bonÀrea Group has enabled the connection and securing of a large-scale network that includes more than 600 stores, 60 gas stations, and nearly 160 logistics and production facilities. The designed infrastructure ensures high availability, low latency, and centralized management of all communications in a particularly demanding environment, with thousands of daily transactions and distributed critical processes.

In the words of Ignacio Marco: “This project demonstrates how a company can take full control of its communications, optimize costs, and gain operational efficiency in an environment as complex as the agri-food sector.

From connectivity to operational efficiency

The partnership with bonÀrea is part of a comprehensive modernization of its communications infrastructure, aligned with its business model, which spans production, distribution, and retail. The company faced a clear challenge: to expand its number of locations, digital services, data, and users without causing network complexity or costs to skyrocket.

Using a single infrastructure based on SAIWALL Secure SD-WAN, bonÀrea has achieved

  • Consolidating access for thousands of users and suppliers
  • Integrating new digital services
  • Maintain control over the network, data, and security
  • Scale its operations without increasing complexity

The result is a communications platform ready for growth, which turns connectivity into a true driver of operational efficiency and digital sovereignty in one of the most demanding sectors of the economy.

Redes&Telecom Awards: Recognition at a pivotal moment for the industry

The Redes&Telecom Awards were launched in 2026 against a backdrop that is particularly significant for digital transformation in Spain and Europe, marked by new demands in security, regulation, and connectivity models.

Through this initiative, the magazine aims to highlight the projects, solutions, and services that are driving this transformation, showcasing the role of companies that are committed to more advanced, secure networks that are aligned with real business needs.

Connectivity, a strategic asset for the company

The bonÀrea case highlights an increasingly common reality: connectivity has evolved from a technical component into a strategic business asset. In environments with multiple locations, distributed processes, and a growing reliance on digital applications, the network serves as the foundation for operational efficiency, security, and scalability.

Projects like Grupo bonÀrea’s demonstrate that organizations that invest in advanced, software-defined network architectures designed for scalability not only improve their performance but also gain control, visibility, and resilience.

In a landscape marked by new regulatory requirements, heightened cybersecurity risks, and increasingly digitized competition, companies must undertake network transformation and adopt a scalable, cost-effective, and secure model.
